Project approved under EPBC Act

The Australian Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment has approved the Boulder Creek Wind Farm, proposed for a site approximately 40 km south-west of Rockhampton in central Queensland.

The decision was made under sections 130 (1) and 133 (1) of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (Cth) (the EPBC Act) .

In granting the approval the delegate of the Minister has approved the controlling provisions proposed for the listed threatened species protected under the EPBC Act.

The proposal must be undertaken in accordance with the conditions specified in the approval, which include not clearing more than 541.9 ha within the project area for construction, as well as various monitoring and reporting requirements.
